SO excited I got this box complimentary from Influenster to review, I'm such a lover of Lancôme–they were the first department store brand I tried as a youngin and it's always held a place in my heart–and this contained my all time fave foundation, the Teint Idole Ultrawear Makeup Stick (among other fun things).
I can't preach enough about this foundation. Seriously, even if you have the wrong color, no one is looking at your face like 'guuuuuuurl, get your shade right' cuz it blends in SO seamlessly that it looks like your face is just your face! This is exactly the kind of coverage I want–I'm not trying to change my texture, I just want my skin tone to be even and look natural. It in no way settles into fine lines or cracks in your skin, it glides on like whipped perfection, and lasts forever. I would say this one definitely goes on best with the Artis hairbrush style foundation brush, but you can really use anything. EVERYONE should try this masterpiece, I honestly don't understand why people obsess over the Hourglass stick when this one is so truly superior. For real though, that shit settles, Lancome's does NOT. Plus it has SPF so all the wins.
So even though this is a shade darker than what matches me best, these are so forgiving this definitely works in a pinch, and it makes it easier to find a match even though there are a ton of shades to choose from. Plus if you're looking a shade or two different with the change of seasons, having another option isn't terrible. Honestly I just love these, do yourself a favor and make it happen.
Using the Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Concealer was interesting for me as I've never been a big user of concealer, but I have to say I really liked this one–it doesn't have that powdery finish, so I feel it doesn't have an opportunity to settle into fine lines or pores. I especially liked it for the under-eye concealing, where the more oily finish really made a difference, and kept the area nice and bright. Definitely worth a try, and I found that a concealer brush worked best for no brushstrokes and a perfect blend. I personally still used a color corrector underneath, but it can definitely be worn alone.
I didn't love the Click & Glow Highlighting Skin Fluid, but it's an interesting concept of a pump with sponge tip, to kind of dot on and blend, but I didn't feel like the blend was particularly smooth. you could see the edges of the product quite clearly, plus it was more of a bronzer than a highlight, which isn't really the best for my fair skin. I wish I had had the opportunity to try the Lumières Rosé color instead, but I think the edges would still bother me.
I've never been a lipgloss fan (especially with long hair to endlessly get caught in it), but I will say the Le Metallique Metallic Lip Lacquer is an especially nice formula; it's smooth, opaque color goes on totally even with no pooling, and you can use it as a lipstick topper for some added depth. The color is also flattering and not too frosty, so it definitely has an air of sophistication that's not your average middle-school level gloss. I would definitely be interested in trying some of the bolder colors to really get an idea of things, but this also works as a fun eye highlight, putting the gloss in the middle of the lid.
